Bhutanese Masks

Bhutanese masks are made from a special wood collected from a remote area of Bhutan. The wood is seasoned and then cut into blocks for making the masks. The masks are hollowed out inside. This is a painstaking process because exerting excessive pressure could crack the entire mask. The masks are then handpainted.
